Nordvestjysk Golf Club is situated in Northwest Jutland, just outside Thisted and approximately a 1.5-hour drive from Holstebro and Aalborg. The Golf Course

Nordvestjysk Golf Club, located in Thy National Park, is a typical ”North Sea course,” situated in a lovely old plantation originally planted to protect the inland from drifting sand. The area bears the imprint of its proximity to the sea (about 4 km away), with vegetation primarily consisting of pine trees and dune spruces. These trees frame nearly all of the course’s holes, with the club considering them as their rough – hence the expression, ”at Nordvestjysk Golf Club, the rough is 6 meters high”!

The golf course is characterized by challenging fairways – at times bordering on difficult, as they do not have a natural topsoil layer and in many places sit atop up to 40 meters of dune sand. Tees and greens are meticulously constructed, and many fairways have a links-style design that is rare and very beautiful.

Over the years, many oak, beech, and other deciduous trees have been planted, resulting in an even more varied natural landscape surrounding the golf course. This has also led to a richer wildlife presence, with hares, squirrels, roe deer, and fallow deer frequently seen – and not particularly shy, given the limited traffic aside from golfers.
