Golf courses
For the 2016 season, the golf course at Hofgut Georgenthal Resort opened. It is considered one of Germany's most beautiful golf courses, combining with the luxurious golf hotel to create the perfect setting for a golf getaway in central Germany. The golf paradise in the Taunus region quickens the heartbeats of even seasoned golfers. The 18-hole golf course is designed like an amphitheater around the hotel. The undulating landscape makes the golf course highly interesting and offers great variation in the game. Despite presenting numerous challenges, the course is playable by golfers of all levels. The hilly terrain repeatedly offers beautiful viewpoints of the area. The golf course was designed by German course architect Christian Althaus and features classic inland-links characteristics. The architect drew inspiration from traditional golf courses in Scotland as well as the area's features such as the Limes, orchards, and water. Although relatively new, the golf course has already secured a spot on the list of the best golf courses in Germany, debuting at number 34 and being the highest-ranked new golf course in the top 100.
